At Rézme, we believe that redemption should include economic participation. Our flagship product, The Restorative Record helps employers comply with fair chance hiring laws by systematizing federal, state, and locally mandated requirements after a background check failure occurs. Integrated directly into background check providers and HR systems like Checkr and Workday, The Restorative Record is designed to empower individuals with criminal records to showcase their true potential in response to a background check flag. By highlighting core competencies, skills, micro-credentials, and personal rehabilitation journeys, we help applicants present a new layer of information to demonstrate their employability. Employers can use this information to conduct mandated individualized assessments that de-risk candidates. Our software tools can also help them pre-file for tax credits and federal bonding insurance.

🧩 Partnership Highlights

Workday Innovation Partnership

Palo Alto, CA – April 7, 2025 – Rézme, an HR compliance tech platform focused on increasing employment opportunities for justice-impacted individuals, today announced it has signed a partnership agreement with Workday, Inc. (NASDAQ: WDAY), the AI platform for managing people, money, and agents. Employers will be able to streamline compliance with fair chance hiring laws and capture financial incentives for hiring from target populations with criminal records.

🔐 First-of-Its-Kind Integration: Rézme is the first fair chance employment compliance solution available in the Workday ecosystem!

🌍 Scale of Impact: Over 11,000 organizations rely on $WDAY ( ▲ 2.49% ) to power their HR operations — positioning Rézme to embed fair chance employment compliance into some of the most influential hiring ecosystems in the world.

This quarter, we’re introducing a powerful enhancement to our compliance platform:

🛡️Dynamic Legal Assessments — purpose-built to support HR teams in making defensible, audit-ready employment decisions in real time.

Rézme’s platform will now enable layered assessments based on:

🏛️ Applicable laws and regulations

🏢 Internal adjudication policies and hiring matrices

📘 Uploaded background reports, HR guides, and onboarding protocols

These assessments surface relevant legal thresholds, internal rules, and documentation guidance at the moment of decision — offering real-time support that’s both compliant and context-aware.

💡 Example: A healthcare employer in Connecticut can now evaluate a candidate’s background by combining state law, internal adjudication policy, and industry-specific exclusions — all within a guided, risk-aware workflow.

Here’s how it works:

📥 Request & Receive the Restorative Record

If the background check indicates potential disqualification, HR can trigger a Restorative Record request — inviting the candidate to submit context, credentials, and rehabilitation history directly through Rézme.

✅ Upload the Background Report

Employers or HR vendors upload a candidate’s background report directly into Rézme’s secure environment.

📄 Ingest Company Policy

We parse and structure your internal adjudication guidelines, HR playbooks, and hiring policies.

⚖️ Layer Applicable Law

Our system identifies and applies relevant regulations and industry-specific mandates.

🧠 Enable Real-Time Assessment Support

As the HR representative reviews the candidate, Rézme dynamically displays the critical legal and policy factors that must be considered — including individualized assessment prompts, disqualification risk flags, and compliance documentation checklists.

🛡️ Why it Matters

This feature helps HR teams reduce liability, document defensible hiring decisions, and ensure compliance — all without interrupting existing workflows

We’re launching this feature first with a set of partners in San Diego, where our system is being configured for municipal reentry incentives and California’s compliance stack. Special shoutout to Branden Butler, Director of Ethics, Compliance & Labor Standards for the County of San Diego in helping to advance Fair Chance Hiring at scale

🚀 Call for ALPHA Partners

We’re opening early access to seven ALPHA companies who want to test-drive this technology — even if you’re not based in San Diego. If you’re navigating employment compliance complexity and want early visibility into this feature set, just reach out.

🔎 The Research Agenda

Rézme’s compliance engine isn’t just operational — it’s evidence-based. As we scale deployment, we’re also advancing a rigorous research agenda in partnership with academic institutions, scholars, and foundations.

📚 CAHRS x Cornell ILR

We’re collaborating with the Center for Advanced Human Resource Studies (CAHRS) to study how employers assess justice-impacted candidates — and how structured, compliant frameworks like the Restorative Record shape decision-making across sectors.

🧭 San Diego Deployment

With new employment laws going into effect on July 1st, San Diego will serve as a real-time policy-to-practice pilot site — generating actionable insights on compliance behaviors, employer readiness, and candidate engagement.

🏀 Co-Founder’s Reflection: Opportunity, Justice, & Technology

This year’s NBA All-Star Weekend wasn’t just about competition — it was a powerful reminder of what it means to bring economic opportunity to the center of influence, culture, and technology.

Standing in the heart of Silicon Valley — where technology startups have disrupted industries and redefined modern life — we were reminded of the urgency and potential of our mission: to build the infrastructure that brings justice-impacted talent and innovation into the future of work as meaningful contributors in our economy.

That vision resonated. From tech and sports to finance, entertainment, and civic leadership, the audience engaged with a shared understanding: that the systems driving our economy must be reconfigured to reflect a broader range of human potential and lived experience. Technology has the power to embed this into the fabric of our lives at scale, and the moment - both politically and technologically - seems to be uniquely upon us.

It was a full circle moment for me personally, being incarcerated as a youth, to graduating from Cornell University’s Prison Education Program because of a generous gift from Doris Buffet (bless her soul), to attending Stanford on a full academic scholarship, before getting my own second chance in tech with Reddit $RDDT ( ▼ 0.13% ) - which inspired the birth of Rézme.

And a big shoutout to the whole Amplitude Family for their overwhelming support in every function of our startup: Spenser, Thomas, Andrew, Sandra, John, Teaja, Shintaro, Claire, Jess, Nikki, Katie, Andrae, and too many Ampliteers to name on one page.!

Did You Know? There is a Fair Chance movement happening in Canada consisting of a consortium of professionals from LinkedIn, Deloitte, and others…

Here’s the TL;DR:

The Fair Chances Coalition is a group of Canadian businesses and organizations committed to changing that. The Fair Chances Coalition is a group of cross-sector organizations, public and private, committed to advancing equity and opportunity for all Canadians. Funded by the Metcalf Foundation, the Coalition was established by the John Howard Society of Ontario in 2021 in partnership with the City of Toronto and Prince’s Trust Canada.

Cheers,

Rézme
